Government leaders discuss UK adequacy, data transfers

The clock is ticking for the EU Commission and the UK government to complete an adequacy agreement following the trade agreement between the EU and UK last Christmas Eve. EU Commission Head of International Data Flows and Protection Bruno Gencarelli and UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport Head of UK International Transfer Regime Joe Jones discussed the likelihood of the UK receiving its adequacy status, as well as the state of play for standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Privacy Shield.
