The IAPP has produced a series of charts covering different privacy engineering domains in an attempt to provide a better understanding of their significance to the privacy industry. The IAPP explains that privacy engineering involves applying systematic approaches to ensure that privacy requirements are included in the development and operation of various systems and services.
The first chart in the series outlines seven different privacy engineering domains. Subsequent charts will focus on the individual domains:
- IT infrastructure architect
- Data science
- Human-computer interaction (HCI) & user experience (UX) design
- Physical architecture
- Process design
- Software development/engineering
- System design
The aim is to provide a more comprehensive understanding of privacy engineering and promote collaboration within the field.
