The latest IAPP-ET Annual Privacy Governance Report is out. This year's dominating issues continue to be the COVID-19 pandemic's influence on the evolution of working patterns and its impact on privacy professionals, along with compliance issues related to the GDPR and CCPA, emerging laws around the world and throughout the US which have shaped the state of the privacy profession in 2021. It also examines how the Schrems II decision and the resulting complications it has created for data transfers to the United States has had nearly as much impact on companies doing business in the EU. The report produced by the IAPP in collaboration with EY and EY Law, takes an in-depth look at the ongoing effects of privacy leadership, budgets, staff and reporting structures, and the workflow around data subjects and processing vendors over the past year.
