Information Commissioner and German DPA discuss privacy

When Information Commissioner John Edwards took to the stage at the IAPP Global Privacy Summit 2022, he began his talk by reminding the audience that the most important aspect of privacy and data protection is "the human story." Taking part in a "Commissioners Chat" with the German Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Ulrich Kelber, the pair debated several important topics that regulators, businesses, and individuals face today, including enforcement, reforming data protection along with the privacy and data protection regulatory environment. Speaking about the future of UK data protection, the pair disagreed on whether Brexit has presented an opportunity for greater regulatory certainty.
