International organisations and their relationship with the EU GDPR

Article 4(26) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation describes "international organisations" as "organisations and its subordinate bodies governed by public international law, or any other body which is set up by, or on the basis of, an agreement between two or more countries." The IAPP breaks down the relationship international organisations have with the GDPR. "The lawful processing of personal data by international organisations, according to the GDPR standards, can help build trust with the individuals protected under the international organisation's missions."
