Twitter whistleblower details data security practices to Senate committee

The former head of security turned Twitter whistleblower Peiter Zatko has testified about the social media company's lax security standards to the US Senate Judiciary Committee. Zatko told senators that Twitter's leadership didn't just ignore security vulnerabilities but also covered up security failures and misled regulators and lawmakers. He also said the Federal Trade Commission was under-resourced regarding enforcing privacy regulations on platforms like Twitter.
