In a blog article for the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), Executive Director for Regulatory Risk Stephen Almond has posted an update about the warning letter sent to 53 of the UK's top 100 websites. The ICO confirmed that 38 organisations had either changed or agreed to bring their cookie consent processes in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations by the end of February.
Arnold writes that this is an "overwhelmingly positive response to our call to action." Arnold also confirmed that the ICO is "already preparing to write to the next 100" websites.
