The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has fined four companies £435,000 for making almost half a million direct marketing calls to people registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). ICO Head of Investigations, Andy Curry, said: “We will not stop investigating and taking robust action against companies, to protect people and especially the vulnerable, where we find a blatant disregard for the law."
- Allapplianceservices UK Ltd made 99,313 calls to TPS registered people and was fined £85,000.
- Boiler Cover Breakdown Limited made 9,075 calls to TPS registered people and was fined £120,000.
- Boiler Breakdown Limited made 348,724 calls to TPS registered people and was fined £140,000.
- Repair Plans UK Limited made 21,347 calls to TPS registered people and was fined £70,000.
- Utility Guard Limited made 1,932 calls to TPS registered people and was fined £20,000.
