ICO fines HelloFresh £140k for PECR violations

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has fined food delivery company Grocery Delivery E-Services UK Limited, trading as HelloFresh £140,000 after the company initiated a marketing campaign of 79 million spam emails and 1 million spam texts. The campaign failed to inform customers with information concerning the specifics of the marketing campaign, a violation under regulation 22 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003.
