The ICO has awarded Tuckers Solicitors LLP a £98,000 monetary penalty for failing to provide appropriate security of personal data in violation of Articles 5(l)(f) of the GDPR. The contravention occurred between the 25th of May 2018 and the 25th of August 2020. The ICO also noted compliance concerns relating to Articles 5(1)(e), 25, 32(l)(a) and 32(l)(b) GDPR. Tuckers were victims of a ransomware attack, but the ICO deemed that the law firms' "failure to implement appropriate technical and organisation measures over some or all of the relevant period rendered it vulnerable to the attack."
