ICO fines two companies £150,000 for PECR violations

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has fined two companies £150,000 for illegal direct marketing under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). 

  • Quick Tax Claims Limited was fined £120,000 for sending 7,863,547 spam text messages in breach of regulations 22 and 23 of PECR.
  • National Debt Advice Limited was fined £30,000 for sending 129,902 unsolicited text messages in breach of regulations 22 of PECR.
