ICO fines two companies £340,000 for PECR violations

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has fined two companies £340,000 for illegal direct marketing under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). 

  • Outsource Strategies Ltd was fined £240,000 for making over 1,346,503 million marketing calls to individuals registered with the TPS in breach of regulations 21 and 24 of PECR.
  • Dr Telemarketing Ltd was fined £100,000 for making 80,240 marketing calls to individuals registered with the TPS in breach of regulations 21 and 24 of PECR.
