ICO publishes 2024-25 Age-Appropriate Design Code strategy

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has published details of its 2024-2025 strategy to protect children's personal data online

The new Age-Appropriate Design Code strategy builds on progress made to date and outlines the priority areas for improvement for social media and video-sharing platforms in the coming year. In a statement, Information Commissioner John Edwards emphasised the importance of not trading children's privacy in the pursuit of profit and called on social media and video-sharing platforms to mitigate potential data harms to children on their platforms.
