The ICO has updated its guidance for the processing of personal data by video surveillance systems. The new guidance is intended to help public and private sector organisations use video surveillance systems to collect and process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. The guidance covers a multitude of applications and technologies including traditional CCTV systems, facial recognition technology, automatic number plate recognition, body-worn camera technology, we well as drones, video doorbells and dash cams.
