ICO publishes report addressing PET adoption challenges

On Tuesday, 13 August 2024, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) released a report addressing the low adoption of privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs). The report summarised findings from an in-person workshop held in February to assess barriers to PET adoption for both suppliers and users. It presented key actions and recommendations for stakeholders to promote responsible PET adoption.

The report is divided into three sections: the first outlines research on adoption barriers, the second discusses identified barriers from the workshop, and the third provides recommendations to overcome these barriers.
