ICO releases children's best interests self-assessment

The ICO has added a set of tools, templates, and guidance on its Age Appropriate Design Code hub to help organisations assess whether they are considering children's best interests as they design and develop online services. The self-assessment includes steps to understand whether organisations are considering the best interests of children under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, which is outlined in the Children's Code's standard. The new online resource also supports identifying how common uses of data can impact the rights of children and guidance on creating an action plan to address risks.
