ICO responds to Ofcom's Cloud services market study

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has responded to a call for input into Ofcom's cloud services market study. The ICO highlights the importance of working together with other regulators and with the industry to regulate an industry dominated by several very large companies. The ICO splits its response into two parts covering data protection law and the Network and Information Systems Regulations 2018. Moving forward, the ICO indicates its willingness to further engage with Ofcom over the market study and to explore synergies between the two regulatory regimes.
