ICO signs MoU with the National Crime Agency

On Tuesday, 10 September 2024, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) announced that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Crime Agency (NCA) aimed at improving cyber resilience. The goal is to strengthen the defence capabilities of organisations against data theft and ransomware activities conducted by cybercriminals. The MoU underlines a determination to share timely and pertinent information on cybersecurity and offer guidance on implementing changes. Furthermore, the MoU will support increasing efforts to ensure that organisations are directed to relevant bodies, such as the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), and are enabled to report cyber crimes promptly.
