Emma Bate, the Director of Legal Services at the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has published a blog article about the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), to help businesses protect personal data when making international data transfers. The blog specifically highlights guidance on transfer risk assessments, international transfers and its six-question TRA tool. The ICO is also preparing additional practical guidance on how to use the IDTA.
UPDATE 201122 - Pinsent Masons published a review of the ICO's updated guidance, adding that the advice specifically addresses which party in data processing agreements will be considered a data exporter and, consequently, the party with statutory obligations concerning international data transfers.
