ICO25 strategy for Freedom of Information

A blog article from Warren Seddon, Director of FOI and Transparency, covers changes that will be included in the ICO25 strategic plan for the next three years. One stated objective is to deliver a better service. This will be achieved by speeding up the handling of requests and, in some cases prioritising cases where there is a clear public interest. A second objective involves the ICO using its enforcement powers more systemically against public authorities consistently failing to meet their FOI obligations. And finally, the ICO will be more transparent regarding it FOI casework. This includes publishing quarterly updates, starting today, of Complaints under s50 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000
