ICO's latest Tech Horizon Report focuses on 8 emerging technologies

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has released its second Tech Horizons Report, examining eight technologies that are expected to have a significant impact on society, economies, and information rights in the coming years. The eight technologies discussed in the report are genomics, immersive virtual worlds, neurotechnologiesquantum computing, commercial use of drones, personalised artificial intelligence, next-generation search and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). While these technologies offer opportunities to improve different aspects of our lives, they also pose challenges that need to be addressed as they develop. The report identifies overarching trends and dynamics that need to be considered as these technologies continue to evolve.
