Inside the ICO's own compliance team, IT budget expenditure

The ICO has posted a blog article reminding everyone that alongside its regulator responsibilities, the ICO is a data controller with the same compliance responsibilities as other organisations. The article is written in an interview style with the head of the ICO's compliance team, Iman, who answers questions about the best part of his job and his most significant challenges. There's also a section on how accountability is more than ticking boxes and red tape. It almost makes you wonder who the article was written for. 

In related news, Digit has published details of an FOI response by the Parliament Street think tank, which observed the ICO's IT budget for each financial year since 2019. According to the report, the ICO has reduced IT spending by £1.2 million between 2019 and 2022.
