Ticketmaster fined £1.2m over GDPR violations

The ICO has issued a £1.25 million fine against Ticketmaster UK related to a data breach discovered in 2018. The ICO found that Ticketmaster did not implement adequate data security measures around its online payments page, which led to the exposure of credit card information belonging to 9.4 million EU citizens, of which 1.5 million were from the UK.
