UPDATE: ICO publishes series of blogs on the Children’s Code

The ICO has published a case study involving Square Enix, the software company that produces online games: Final Fantasy and Tomb Raider. The purpose of the case study was to explore how Square Enix worked through the Children’s Code harms framework, revealing practical ways to practically apply it for others considering how to use it.  Workshop participants were asked questions about how they process children's data and the legal bases for using their information. The ICO added it will translate the harms framework into an interactive tool over the coming months. 

UPDATE: 270521 - In two follow up articles, the ICO writes about how the digital design community can help shape the Children’s Code, and a separate article outlines the role of data protection impact assessments.
