Researchers concerned about invasive World Cup tracking apps

Cybersecurity experts are warning World Cup attendees not to carry their smartphones on their person at the event. Qatar's government requires attendees to download two mobile applications. The first is a COVID-19 tracking app that contains "several access requirements." The second is the official app of the World Cup, which "seeks access to share your personal information without almost any restrictions.
