70% of business leaders concerned about security skills gap

The 2024 Security Awareness and Training Global Research Report by Fortinet reveals that almost 70% of business leaders are concerned that their employees lack essential cybersecurity knowledge, an increase from 56% in 2023. Furthermore, the report highlights the growing sophistication of AI-driven cyberattacks, with over 60% of respondents expecting an increase in employees falling victim to these enhanced threats. 

In response to these challenges, 80% of organisations indicated that heightened awareness of such risks had led them to adopt security training programmes. The report revealed that three-quarters proactively plan to implement awareness campaigns, including 34% providing monthly training and 47% doing so quarterly to help employees identify potential threats.
