Five Eyes intelligence agencies launch startup security initiative

Governments in the UK, US, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia have adopted the UK's Secure Innovation initiative, aimed at bolstering cybersecurity among tech startups facing increasing threats from state-backed actors. Initially developed by GCHQ's National Cyber Security Centre and MI5, the programme has been adapted by the Five Eyes intelligence agencies.

The launch follows a landmark public meeting of the heads of Five Eyes intelligence agencies, during which concerns were raised about hostile nations, particularly China, seeking to steal intellectual property to enhance their own capabilities.
