Nine in ten UK organisations compromised by phishing attack

The study found that there was a substantial increase in email-based attacks globally in 2021 compared with 2020. Email-based ransomware attacks affected 78% of organisations, while 77% faced business email compromise attacks. In the latest report, the number of organisations admitting to at least one attack rose from 57% in 2020 to 83%. Of the 68% of organisations who admitted to at least one ransomware infection, 60% confessed to paying a ransom, with 32% paying an additional amount to regain control of their data and systems.
