Vaccination considerations for UK and EU employers

An Inside Privacy blog post addresses employers’ questions on employee vaccinations. Inquiries into employees’ vaccination status raise “privacy issues” under the GDPR. The authors explored varied approaches across the EU and UK and key considerations for employers, recommending they “err on the side of caution when deciding whether or not to collect and process vaccination data from their employees.”  In related news, The Independent reports that a 22-year-old student was reportedly contacted by an NHS Test and Trace call handler on Instagram shortly after checking she was self-isolating. Concerned for her safety, she said, “This man acted in a predatory manner and has gone out of his way to track me down and send me creepy messages through my private Instagram page.”
