ISO launches new AI management system standard

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) introduced ISO/IEC 42001, the world's first artificial intelligence (AI) management system (AIMS) standard.

ISO/IEC 42001 provides a framework for developers of AI systems along with organisations that use AI-based products or services in order to help manage risks and demonstrate responsible use of AI. The standard addresses the unique challenges that AI presents, such as ethical considerations, transparency, and continuous learning. The standard provides a structured way to manage risks and opportunities associated with AI while balancing innovation with governance.
