DPC publishes Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) guidance

The Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) has published new guidance to help controllers with their obligations to maintain a Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) as required under Article 30 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The DPC highlights that a RoPA is one of the activities controllers perform to demonstrate the principle of accountability contained within Article 5(2) GDPR. The guidelines were developed after reviewing 30 organisations' RoPAs from the public and private sectors in early 2022.
