Irish DPC to receive 13% budget increase in 2023

The Irish government has announced the Data Protection Commission (DPC) will receive a 13% budget increase in 2023. The DPC will receive more than €26 million in funding, continuing a "trajectory of significantly increased funding" that the Irish government committed to over recent years. The increase is expected to cover two additional commissioners and other staff in "recognition of the important role played by the Data Protection Commission in safeguarding privacy rights."
