Israel opens consultation on EEA data transfers

01/12/2022 | Israeli Government

The Israeli Ministry of Justice has announced a public consultation on the draft Privacy Protection Regulations (PPR) concerning data transfers from European Economic Area (EEA) nations. The PPR covers obligations for Israeli organisations to ensure adequate data protection levels for personal data transferred from the EEA. The PPR contains responsibilities for setting data retention limits along with extending rights to deletion, accuracy and notification. The consultation closes on 20 December. In October, the IAPP published an article discussing EU-Israeli adequacy.
