Google introduces data retention policy for advertising

Google has announced that it will introduce a new data-retention policy restricting access to historical data to a maximum of 11 years for its advertising services. The decision reflects a broader trend within the industry toward shorter data retention cycles, prompted by increasing privacy concerns and ongoing trials emerging globally. The new policy, which will commence on 13 November, will automatically apply to data accessed through Google Ads API, using GoogleAds, Search, or GoogleAds.SearchStream. Any data older than 11 years from the date of the API request will not be available when the platform is queried.
