Global privacy regulations should permit responsible data use

Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President for Global Privacy and Regulatory Affairs and Chief Privacy Officer Julie Brill writes that discussions around data and regulation should be reframed to support data use. Successful regulatory approaches should be examined with new approaches developed to enable responsible use and sharing of data. “Our challenge of enabling the responsible use of our data infrastructure through a robust global regulatory framework has never been more urgent.”
