NCSC announces Active Cyber Defence 2.0

02/08/2024 | NCSC

The UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has announced plans to introduce a new version of its Active Cyber Defence (ACD) initiative to assist businesses in addressing evolving cyber threats. ACD 2.0 will focus on developing a “next generation” suite of cybersecurity tools and services to fill the gaps in the commercial market.

The NCSC said that it intends to review the current tools and services of ACD and transfer the management of its services to the private sector as appropriate. Eventually, the NCSC plans to divest most of the successful new services within three years to another part of the government or the private sector for long-term operation. Further details will be announced in September.
