NCSC publishes 2022 annual review

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has published its 2022 annual review, which revealed its Early Warning service issued 34 million cyber alerts about attacks, compromises and vulnerabilities over the past 12 months to subscribers. During this time, the service experienced a 90% year-on-year increase in sign-ups. Other highlighted areas in the review indicate the NCSC helped to remove 2.1 million high-volume, low-sophistication attacks, such as phishing attacks. The general public contributed 6.5 million reports (a 20% increase) to the NCSC's Suspicious Email Reporting Service (SERS), resulting in the removal of 62,000 scam URLs.
