European Union member states have unanimously approved the European Commission's draft adequacy decisions for the UK, according to Netzpolitik.org. The approval of the draft decisions ensures data will continue to flow between the EU and the UK. Following the approval from the EU member states, the European Commission will formally agree on UK adequacy, after which the final decision will be published. How long the UK adequacy decision lasts depends primarily on whether the UK government scraps the GDPR in favour of a UK Framework of Citizen Data Rights proposed by its Brexit thinktank.
