Jenny Hall, Director of Data Policy at the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), has said that the department won't "stand still" on UK data protection reform following the resignation of DCMS Minister Julia Lopez in protest of Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Hall said that Secretary of State for DCMS Nadine Dorries is "ultimately responsible" for ongoing reforms, including changes to the UK's data transfer regime to "expand the list of (data) transfer mechanisms, to respond to global developments" while working towards a transfer regime that focuses on "the end result rather than irrespective of the way in which things are designed."
