NIST launches new AI risk and impact assessment programme

The US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has launched a new Assessing Risks and Impacts of Artificial Intelligence (ARIA) programme. The ARIA programme aims to create methods for evaluating the functionality of a system within societal settings after deployment. The results will support testing conducted by the US AI Safety Institute and contribute towards the establishment of reliable AI systems.
