Noyb, fired off its latest batch of complaints seeking to bring cookie consent banner implementations into compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Back in March, noyb launched the second wave of action by sending 270 website operators complaints in draft form. Each organisation received a 60-day notice period to comply before their complaint was filed with the relevant authority. This week, noyb followed through on its threat by filling 226 GDPR complaints with 18 different data protection authorities (DPAs) against the websites that ignored or failed to take sufficient action and bring their cookie consent banners into compliance.
