On Wednesday, 19 June 2024, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) published a report exploring the concept of Digital Safety by Design for Children (DSDfC). The report, which considers various different international and national approaches, identifies eight core DSDfC components covering issues like age assurance mechanisms, child-centred design, harm prevention, privacy protection, child-friendly information provision, complaint facilitation, child participation, and safety culture promotion. The report also includes case studies illustrating the need for diverse and tailored approaches.
