On 3 June, the EU Data Governance Act (DGA) was published in the Official Journal of the European Union. Earlier in the year, the Council of the European Union approved the DGA in May, shortly after the European Parliament gave its support in April. The DGA, which provides companies better access to data to develop new products and services, will enter into force on 23 June and apply 15 months after that. The IAPP wrote about the privacy-related aspects of the DGA and has an infographic that details current EU data initiatives, including the DGA.
