Coalition press EU Parliament to enable ePrivacy automated consent

A group of 34 privacy campaigners and civil society organisations, including the Open Rights Group, NOYB, and Amnesty International, have penned an Open Letter to the European Parliament urging it to introduce automated privacy signals into the ePrivacy Regulation. The group argues that numerous studies show that most users would reject cookies or tracking. Yet, despite being given control, many sites still exploit users with deceptive interfaces that coerce them into accepting being tracked. The solution is to "extend the use of automated signals to the management of consent, and provide a working alternative to cookie banners."
