ORG highlights gaps in Joint Committee report on the Online Safety Bill

Following the release of the Joint Committee report on the Online Safety Bill, the Open Rights Group believes the committee has overlooked the importance of restoring control of personal data to the user. It highlights how the committee has based its conclusions on the protections available to citizens through the UK GDPR, overlooking the fact that the government plans to "water down those protections" through the DCMS consultation Data: a new direction or the review of the recently announced review of the Human Rights Act.
