Upper Tribunal rules in AdTech challenge against the ICO

The Upper Tribunal ruled on our challenge against the ICO’s handling of a complaint from the Open Rights Group concerning illegal data processing within the AdTech sector. While the UT refused the main request that would have required the ICO to reopen the complaint due to there being no original outcome, the ORG did win concessions and admissions related to the accountability of the ICO and the rights of complainants. ORG say tthat they "expect the ICO to take a more proactive approach to complaints following the judgment and will continue to hold the ICO to account where they fail to do so."
