UPDATE: Data protection representative actions case closed

The UK government has confirmed it will not be introducing legislation that will enable non-profit groups to raise data protection claims on behalf of individuals without their permission. The DCMS opened a consultation last year but concluded the case was not strong enough. Responses were submitted by the Open Rights Group and CIPL
