US-EU privacy deal kicked down the road

While Joe Biden's victory in the U.S. presidential election is seen as a win for transatlantic relations, those hoping for a quick Privacy Shield deal might be disappointed. Changes to personnel in Washington will slow negotiations, and there is likely to be little difference in the two administrations' stances on privacy and national security. Realistically we could be looking at 2021 for a deal.
