US urges EU to consider DMA's effects on US companies

The US government is airing concerns to EU officials regarding the increased burdens the proposed Digital Markets Act will place on US-based companies. US officials wrote a white paper outlining its issues, noting regulation from the US or the EU should not create "unintended adverse consequences, such as inadvertent cybersecurity risks or harms to technological innovation." The paper also urged EU officials to implement the DMA in "non-discriminatory fashion and ensure appropriate coverage for all appropriate firms."
