Portugal bans Worldcoin from collecting biometric data

The Portuguese data protection authority, CNPD, has joined the growing list of regulators to issue a banning order on Worldcoin, the cryptocurrency project co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. The CNPD announced that it has placed a temporary limit on the collection of biometric data through the company's Orb in the country to "safeguard the rights of citizens, especially minors."
